Day-Long events target the busy teen and parents. They provide tangible supports, self-care and value to individuals through their seasonal steps that offer a holistic approach to the college-bound student.

The Day-Long approach makes the four day summer intensive that Higher Ed currently offers both affordable and customizable for parents and students. It offers the information found in the four day summer intensive in the form of workshops that allow students and parents to select the topics that are most relevant to them.

Sample Day-Long:

Spring cleaning is not just for grout lines or windows—it’s also for clearing emotional and mental clutter. In this season of renewal, students and parents are invited to join us for walking meditation, fresh juices, acupuncture, total body stretch, and not-for-the-application Random Acts of Kindness. Learn and practice The Relaxation Response.

Select from workshops such as Sleep Hygiene Rituals for Better Rest, Me: 2018 and Beyond, Thrive in the Age of High Stress High School, and Connecting With My Teen. 1. The day-long approach gives clients the gift of selection to effectively maximize their time in the areas of their interests and needs.
  2. The day-long model gives leaders ample time to both prepare and decompress from the day-long given its single day nature.
  3. Day-longs provide the potential for leaders to lead a morning and afternoon session on the same topic given enough generated interest.
  4. Day-longs provide us more time to prepare high-quality content and marketing toward a target audience for a single event.
  5. Events can be replicated regionally to multiple audiences.
  6. Day-longs lend themselves to large groups of participants which favor us fiscally.
  7. Day-longs provide a sorbet to the immersive weekend retreat. In a short amount of time, they give students and parents an opportunity to see what Higher Ed has to offer.

Wellness weekends provide extended time for digital detox, reflection and mapping. Why This Model:

  1. The retreat model provides an extended space for a small group of students and parents looking to take a deep dive into Higher Ed curriculum and the art of self care while seeking a personalized experience.
  2. The three day model ensures time for self-care practices alongside experiential content.
  3. Working with retreat sites allows Higher Ed, Community Yoga School and partners to focus on workshop content while venues organize meals, spa treatments, spatial logistics, some strands of liability and, in some cases, bookings.
  4. Retreats provide a higher price point to their day-long counterparts.
  5. Fewer participants require fewer workshop leaders and allow us to guide the first retreats before expanding our team.
  6. With significant interest among students and parents, retreats can expand to five and seven day models on an international scale.
